The first 18 hole round is done. A full 5 weeks since I last even played 9 holes I got out to a course and finished 18 holes. It felt great. The score wasn’t what I’d hoped for when I started this back at the turn of the year, or compared to how I was playing at the tail end of last season, but my swing has been through a lot problems in that time so it is something to build from.

Another trip to the very nice Furzeley Golf Course and the conditions were slightly better this time although still very much in UK winter golf conditions with all tees off mats. After a poor practice session beforehand the actual on course performance turned out pretty good. I didn’t really manage to capitalize on my good shots but still managed to take a good chunk of shots off last times score.

So my first round of 2017 has now been completed. I played the front 9 holes at Furzeley Golf Course yesterday with a friend and it was a nice day considering the time of year but the ground was very wet after some recent rain. Still the view off the first tee looked pretty good and I was excited to get the year underway.

Well the new year has rolled around and now the real work begins on improving my Golf and trying to hit my targets. With the first round of the new year planned with a friend tomorrow then the plan starts here. The rough plan involves getting the driver under control and improving scores by playing more. The detail of that is obviously more complicated!
